After months of publicly raising the issue, Chariz Solomon finally has a major update on the unpaid talent fees connected to “Tahanang Pinakamasaya.”
The Kapuso host and comedian revealed that she and her fellow hosts have already received 50% of the talent fees that had remained unpaid, bringing partial relief to an issue that had lingered since the noontime show’s brief run in 2024.
Chariz made the revelation during her appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” where she happily announced the development.
She described the news as an exclusive announcement and said she was happy to share that the hosts had already received half of what was owed to them. She also believed that some members of the show’s staff and production team had likewise received payments, possibly even before the hosts.
The payment comes more than two years after the show ended
The development is significant because the payment issue had already been publicly discussed earlier this year.
In January 2026, Chariz called attention to the unpaid talent fees during an episode of the “Your Honor” podcast with fellow former “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” host Buboy Villar. Dasuri Choi, another former host, was also part of that conversation.
At the time, Chariz pointed out that it was already 2026 despite the show having ended in 2024. The issue was subsequently reported by several entertainment outlets, including PEP and Philstar.com.
The concern was not limited to Chariz. Earlier reports also identified other “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” hosts as among those who were reportedly still waiting for their talent fees. PEP reported in May 2025 that the show’s hosts were still owed nearly two months of talent fees more than a year after the program was cancelled.
Why Chariz says the delayed payment mattered
Chariz also explained that the situation had real financial consequences.
According to her account, she and her fellow hosts had turned down other projects and sidelines during the roughly two months they worked on the noontime program because they chose to prioritize the show.
That meant the delayed compensation was not simply a matter of waiting for money—it also involved opportunities they said they had passed up while committing themselves to the program.
Despite this, Chariz stressed that she and the other hosts were not simply angry over what happened.
Instead, she looked back at the experience with mixed emotions, saying the show brought exhaustion and challenges but also provided memorable experiences and valuable lessons.
Chariz answers criticism over joining the controversial show
The comedian also addressed another issue that has followed her since the program’s short-lived run: criticism from some netizens over her decision to accept a hosting role on “Tahanang Pinakamasaya.”
Chariz essentially argued that the show would have continued regardless of whether she accepted the job.
Her position was straightforward: she accepted the work because she needed a job.
That explanation offers a different perspective on the controversy surrounding the program. For Chariz, accepting the opportunity was a professional decision rather than a statement about the disputes surrounding the show’s production company.
‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ was born from the Eat Bulaga controversy
“Tahanang Pinakamasaya” was produced by Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE) and aired on GMA Network in early 2024.
The program emerged after the highly publicized dispute involving TAPE and the original “Eat Bulaga!” hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon. Following the legal battle over the use of the “Eat Bulaga!” name, TAPE launched “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” as its replacement program.
The show premiered in January 2024 but had a short television run. GMA later confirmed the end of the program in March 2024, with replay episodes continuing after its final live broadcast. Contemporary reports place the final live episode on March 2, while the program’s official shutdown was announced on March 7.
The bigger issue: 50% paid, 50% still pending
The latest development is undoubtedly a positive step for Chariz and her fellow hosts—but it also leaves an important question unanswered.
If 50% has already been paid, when will the remaining 50% be released?
Chariz’s latest disclosure confirms that the long-running payment dispute has moved forward, but it does not establish a date for the settlement of the remaining balance.
That distinction is important. The latest reports confirm the 50% payment, but there is no publicly established timetable in the reports reviewed for when the remaining amount will be paid.
For now, Chariz appears to be taking the partial payment as good news while continuing to look back on the experience without bitterness.
