Fuel prices across the Davao Region continued to differ significantly by location during the latest monitoring period, with gasoline prices in some areas exceeding P100 per liter.
Data from the Department of Energy covering September 8 to 14 showed that average pump prices across the region stood at P79.48 per liter for premium gasoline, P78.43 for regular gasoline and P89.30 for diesel.
Diesel Plus averaged P94.72 per liter, while kerosene posted an average of P112.49.
The figures highlight the wide differences motorists can encounter depending on where they buy fuel.
Gasoline prices show the widest gaps
Premium gasoline prices across monitored areas ranged from P73.07 to P108.98 per liter.
Regular gasoline was priced between P72.50 and P108.48 per liter, while diesel ranged from P72.57 to P104.17.
Diesel Plus prices varied from P89.30 to P99.10 per liter.
Kerosene prices ranged from P104.90 to P121.80 per liter, making it the most expensive petroleum product among those monitored on average.
Davao City prices remain below some provincial areas
In Davao City, premium gasoline averaged P78.92 per liter, while regular gasoline averaged P77.86.
Diesel stood at P89.15 per liter, with Diesel Plus at P93.73 and kerosene at P112.15.
Digos City recorded similar gasoline prices, with premium gasoline averaging P78.58 and regular gasoline P77.74. Diesel averaged P89.15, while Diesel Plus was higher at P95.10.
Panabo City had some of the lower average prices among the monitored cities.
Premium gasoline averaged P77.42 per liter, regular gasoline P76.79 and diesel P88.03. Kerosene averaged P110.
In Tagum City, premium gasoline averaged P80.57 per liter, regular gasoline P78.72 and diesel P89.42. Diesel Plus reached P97.60, while kerosene averaged P110.35.
Mati City recorded average prices of P79.05 for premium gasoline, P78.30 for regular gasoline and P88.36 for diesel. Diesel Plus averaged P96.70.
The Island Garden City of Samal posted average prices of P79.76 for premium gasoline, P79.18 for regular gasoline and P90.16 for diesel.
Davao Occidental among the more expensive areas
Provincial averages also showed noticeable differences.
Davao del Sur recorded average prices of P78.93 per liter for premium gasoline, P77.84 for regular gasoline and P89.09 for diesel.
Davao de Oro posted higher averages of P80.33 for premium gasoline, P79.44 for regular gasoline and P89.51 for diesel.
Davao del Norte averaged P80.01 for premium gasoline, P78.87 for regular gasoline and P89.36 for diesel.
Davao Occidental recorded some of the highest provincial averages, with premium gasoline at P83.27 per liter and regular gasoline at P82.20. Diesel averaged P90.26.
Davao Oriental recorded average prices of P79.40 for premium gasoline, P78.61 for regular gasoline and P89.82 for diesel.
Why prices differ across the region
The DOE figures reflect prevailing pump prices reported from different locations rather than a single fixed rate for the entire Davao Region.
Differences can be influenced by transportation and distribution costs, local market conditions, station operating costs and the distance of individual areas from fuel supply sources.
For motorists, the variation means that the price paid at the pump can depend heavily on where they fill up.
The latest figures also show that while regional average prices remain below P100 per liter for most major fuel products, individual stations and areas can record substantially higher rates.
With fuel continuing to represent a significant expense for households, commuters and businesses, the differences across Davao’s cities and provinces are likely to remain closely watched as pump prices respond to movements in global oil markets and domestic fuel costs.
