SINGAPORE — Aspiring K-pop performers in Singapore are getting a major opportunity to audition for the label behind BTS.
BIGHIT MUSIC, the South Korean entertainment label home to global superstars BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and CORTIS, has announced its 2026 BIGHIT MUSIC GLOBAL AUDITION, with Singapore among 15 cities worldwide that will host in-person auditions.
The Singapore audition will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, at Metropolitan YMCA.
The audition is open to male applicants born in 2008 or later, regardless of nationality or where they currently live. BIGHIT MUSIC is also not limiting applicants to specific performance categories, meaning hopefuls can showcase whatever talent best represents their individuality and potential.
That means applicants do not necessarily have to fit a traditional singer-or-dancer mold. The agency’s announcement emphasizes individual strengths and talents across different fields.
No advance registration for the Singapore audition
One of the biggest advantages for applicants in Singapore is that advance registration is not required for the offline audition.
Those who want to participate can attend the Singapore audition on the scheduled date and apply on site, according to BIGHIT MUSIC’s announcement.
The Singapore stop is part of a much larger worldwide talent search.
Offline auditions will be held between Oct. 3 and Dec. 5 in 15 cities, including Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Singapore. Other Asian stops include Jakarta and Bangkok.
Online applications are also open
For those unable to attend an in-person audition, BIGHIT MUSIC is also accepting online applications from Sept. 14 through Dec. 5, 2026 through its official audition platform.
The simultaneous online and offline recruitment gives aspiring performers outside the 15 audition cities another route to be considered.
Is BIGHIT looking for the next BTS?
That is where the announcement is likely to generate the most excitement among K-pop fans.
BIGHIT MUSIC is the label behind BTS, one of the world’s biggest K-pop groups, as well as TOMORROW X TOGETHER and CORTIS.
However, applicants should not interpret the audition as a search for a new BTS member.
The current announcement is a global talent search for future male artists and trainees, rather than an audition to join the existing BTS lineup.
BIGHIT MUSIC’s latest recruitment drive nevertheless highlights the label’s continuing effort to develop another generation of artists.
Korea JoongAng Daily reported that the 2026 audition is aimed at discovering new male talent, while Korean media have also framed the search as an opportunity to find the next generation of artists following BIGHIT MUSIC’s established acts.
BIGHIT’s approach goes beyond technical skills
BIGHIT MUSIC has previously explained that its audition process is not simply about finding performers with polished technical ability.
In an interview published by Weverse Magazine, BIGHIT’s casting team said potential and the ability to grow through training are important considerations, alongside technical skills in areas such as vocals, rap and dance.
That philosophy could be significant for young applicants who may not yet have professional-level experience but believe they have the potential to develop.
Singapore’s growing role in the K-pop audition circuit
BIGHIT MUSIC’s Singapore audition is also part of a broader trend.
Singapore has increasingly become a stop for major Korean entertainment companies searching for new talent. Earlier this year, HYBE subsidiary ADOR held auditions in Singapore for a new boy group, while HYBE India also brought an audition campaign to the city for a new girl group.
BIGHIT MUSIC itself included Singapore in its previous global audition campaigns, demonstrating the city’s continuing importance as a regional destination for K-pop talent scouting.
For young performers hoping to enter the K-pop industry, the Oct. 24 audition could therefore represent a significant opportunity—not necessarily because it guarantees a debut, but because it puts aspiring artists directly in front of a major global label.
And with BIGHIT MUSIC now actively searching for its next generation of talent, the question fans will be watching is simple:
Could one of the next big names in K-pop be discovered in Singapore?
