MANILA, Philippines — Robinsons Land Corp. is moving ahead with plans to bring its homegrown five-star Fili Hotel brand to Metro Manila, with the Fili Hotel Bridgetowne now targeting an opening in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The planned hotel will mark the second Fili property following the opening of the flagship Fili Hotel at NUSTAR Resort and Casino in Cebu in 2022. The Metro Manila project is expected to strengthen Bridgetowne’s position as a major business, lifestyle, entertainment and hospitality destination in the eastern part of the capital.
According to the latest report from InsiderPH, the hotel is being developed within Robinsons Land’s Bridgetowne Destination Estate, a roughly 32- to 33-hectare mixed-use development spanning Quezon City and Pasig City.
Fili targets 2027 Metro Manila opening
The latest timetable represents a shift from earlier projections for the project.
Robinsons Land had previously discussed an earlier opening for Fili Bridgetowne, with company executives at different points citing 2026 and early 2027 targets. However, the latest company-related disclosures and the September 2026 InsiderPH report now place the opening target in Q4 2027.
Robinsons Land’s latest project information lists Fili Hotel Bridgetowne at 26% completion, with the project included in the company’s ongoing investment pipeline through 2027.
InsiderPH reported that Robinsons Land has planned about ₱2.26 billion in spending through next year for the hotel project.
More than just another luxury hotel
Fili Bridgetowne is being positioned as a major hospitality component of the wider Bridgetowne estate rather than a standalone hotel.
The property will have direct access to Opus Mall, Robinsons Land’s upscale retail and lifestyle destination, giving future guests convenient access to shopping, dining and entertainment options.
The hotel is also expected to feature one of Metro Manila’s largest hotel ballrooms. Robinsons Hotels and Resorts currently describes Fili Bridgetowne as featuring the city’s second-largest grand ballroom, potentially giving the property a significant role in weddings, conferences, corporate gatherings and other large-scale events.
The combination of hotel accommodations, retail, offices, residences and leisure facilities is central to Bridgetowne’s strategy of becoming an integrated urban destination.
Bridgetowne becomes an even bigger hospitality hub
Bridgetowne has evolved into one of Robinsons Land’s flagship destination estates, linking parts of Quezon City and Pasig.
The development combines workplaces, residential projects, retail, entertainment, hospitality and leisure facilities. Robinsons Land has described the estate as a fully integrated urban center designed around accessibility and connectivity in Metro Manila’s eastern corridor.
The estate is also home to the massive The Victor public art installation and the 110-meter Bridgetowne bridge crossing the Marikina River, infrastructure designed to improve connectivity between the two sides of the development.
With Fili Hotel joining the estate’s existing retail and business infrastructure, Robinsons is effectively building a destination where visitors can stay, work, dine, shop and attend major events within the same mixed-use environment.
Fili aims to put Filipino luxury on the map
Fili is more than another hotel brand in the Robinsons portfolio.
Robinsons Hotels and Resorts positions Fili as its Filipino-owned five-star hotel brand, with its identity centered on Filipino hospitality, design and service while competing at international luxury standards.
The flagship Fili Hotel at NUSTAR Cebu opened in 2022 and serves as the foundation for the brand’s planned expansion.
RHR executives have previously said they want Fili to develop into a major Filipino luxury hospitality brand capable of eventually competing with established Asian homegrown names such as Peninsula and Mandarin Oriental.
That ambition makes the Bridgetowne project particularly significant: it will place the Fili brand directly in one of Metro Manila’s most competitive business and lifestyle corridors.
A strategic location for business and events
The location is also deliberate.
Earlier company statements indicated that Fili Bridgetowne is expected to serve business travelers, corporate events and the growing residential population around the C-5 corridor, rather than relying solely on traditional tourist traffic.
That strategy could give the hotel multiple sources of demand—from corporate travelers and meetings to weddings, conferences, dining, staycations and weekend leisure.
The presence of Opus Mall next door further strengthens that positioning by giving the hotel an established retail and dining ecosystem.
Robinsons expands its hotel pipeline
Fili Bridgetowne is also only one piece of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts’ broader expansion strategy.
The group has been investing heavily in expanding its upscale and luxury portfolio. Robinsons Land and JG Summit previously announced a more than ₱10-billion hotel development program, with plans to add hundreds of rooms across several properties and strengthen the company’s homegrown hotel brands.
Other projects in the pipeline include Grand Summit properties in Cebu, Pangasinan and Panglao, while RHR continues to expand its broader hotel portfolio across the Philippines.
RHR currently operates a broad portfolio covering luxury, upscale and value-oriented hospitality brands across numerous Philippine locations.
The 2027 question
For Fili Hotel Bridgetowne, the next major milestone is now execution.
The project has already received substantial investment and construction progress, but with the latest target pushed toward Q4 2027, attention will increasingly turn to construction completion, hotel fit-out, hiring, pre-opening activities and the eventual launch of the property.
If the timetable holds, Metro Manila will gain a new homegrown luxury hotel designed to compete not only through five-star accommodation but through events, dining, retail connectivity and the broader Bridgetowne lifestyle ecosystem.
And that could make Fili Bridgetowne more than Robinsons’ second Fili hotel—it could become the brand’s biggest test yet of whether a distinctly Filipino luxury concept can establish itself as a serious player in Metro Manila’s highly competitive hotel market.
