Starbucks’ Mofusand Cats Are Returning to Singapore on Aug 25—But One Exclusive Item Goes on Sale Four Days Earlier

SINGAPORE — Mofusand fans may want to mark two dates on their calendars. Starbucks Singapore is bringing back its wildly popular collaboration with the Japanese cat brand, with a new collection launching on August 25, 2026 — but an exclusive item will arrive several days earlier.

The latest Mofusand x Starbucks Singapore collection brings back illustrator Juno’s familiar ginger and grey cats, this time paired once again with Starbucks-inspired designs and a fresh range of drinkware, accessories and collectibles.

According to Starbucks Singapore details reported by The Straits Times, the main collection will be released at physical Starbucks outlets on Tuesday, August 25, as well as through the Starbucks Singapore online store from 10am. The collection is also scheduled to go live on LazMall and ShopeeMall from 12pm.

And given what happened the last time Mofusand landed at Starbucks Singapore, some collectors may not want to leave their shopping until later in the day.

What’s in the new Starbucks x Mofusand 2026 collection?

Starbucks has confirmed that the new range will feature several returning merchandise categories alongside new additions.

Among the products are wristlet pouches and blind-box keychains, together with plush keychains, a ceramic mug, stainless-steel tumbler and water bottle.

The designs once again feature Mofusand’s instantly recognisable cats, created by Japanese illustrator Juno, whose illustrations have built a substantial following among fans of Japanese character merchandise. CNA previously described Mofusand as a Japanese brand centred on Juno’s popular cat characters.

Starbucks is imposing a purchase restriction for the launch: customers will be allowed to buy up to two pieces of each item.

That restriction could prove important if demand resembles last year’s launches.

But one Mofusand collectible arrives before August 25

The main collection may launch on August 25, but Starbucks Rewards members will get an earlier opportunity to pick up a separate online exclusive.

Beginning August 21, members can purchase a S$44.90 Mofusand bundle featuring a limited-edition Mofusand Glass Cold Cup together with Starbucks drink vouchers.

That gives Rewards members a four-day head start before the broader merchandise rollout.

The limited-edition glass cup is already drawing attention beyond Singapore. Online discussions have surfaced from overseas Mofusand collectors trying to arrange Singapore proxy purchases ahead of the release, highlighting the international interest generated by Singapore-exclusive or limited Starbucks collaborations.

There’s also a free Mofusand item for delivery orders

Fans who are more interested in getting a collectible without purchasing the main merchandise have another option.

Customers who spend at least S$25 through Starbucks Delivers, GrabFood or Foodpanda can receive a complimentary Mofusand reusable cup bag, while stocks last.

The S$25 qualifying amount excludes delivery fees and applicable discounts, according to Starbucks.

As with most limited-edition promotional merchandise, availability will depend on remaining stocks.

Why Starbucks is bringing Mofusand back

This is far from the first time Starbucks Singapore has tapped into the booming market for character collectibles.

Mofusand and Starbucks first teamed up in Singapore in August 2025, when the coffee chain launched a 13-item Classic Collection featuring plush toys, reusable bags, puffer totes, cup clips and drinkware. CNA reported at the time that the collaboration was exclusive to Singapore.

A second strawberry-themed collection followed shortly afterwards, featuring pink drinkware, plushies, reusable bags and accessories inspired partly by Starbucks’ Strawberry Acai Refreshers.

The response was significant. According to The Straits Times, merchandise from both of the 2025 Mofusand collections sold out quickly following their launches. The paper separately reported that the original Singapore-exclusive Mofusand collaboration sold out on its first day.

That history helps explain both the purchase limits and why the 2026 comeback could attract another early rush.

Starbucks is betting heavily on character collaborations

The Mofusand return also comes during an especially active period for Starbucks’ collectible merchandise strategy in Singapore and across Asia.

Earlier this month, Starbucks partnered with POP MART to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Molly character, releasing a themed beverage and merchandise collection beginning August 3, 2026.

Starbucks said that collaboration spanned eight Asia-Pacific markets and included tumblers, mugs, bags, umbrellas and a special Bearista Glass Cold Cup reimagining the Starbucks mascot as Molly.

Singapore also saw a Harry Potter x Starbucks collaboration in March 2026, while locally inspired Starbucks merchandise has included Peranakan-themed collectibles and Singapore-specific designs.

The pattern points to Starbucks increasingly treating its stores not only as places to buy coffee but also as retail destinations for limited-edition character and lifestyle merchandise.

And with Mofusand already proving it can trigger sell-outs in Singapore, its return may be one of the more closely watched Starbucks merchandise drops of the year.

When and where to buy the Starbucks x Mofusand 2026 collection

The Mofusand x Starbucks Singapore 2026 collection launches August 25.

Customers can shop at participating physical Starbucks stores, through the Starbucks Singapore online store from 10am, and through LazMall and ShopeeMall from 12pm.

Purchases are limited to two pieces of each item per customer.

Starbucks Rewards members can separately purchase the S$44.90 Mofusand Glass Cold Cup and voucher bundle beginning August 21, giving collectors another reason to start watching availability before the main launch date.
