SINGAPORE — Mooncake season has officially arrived in Singapore, and Takashimaya is turning its Orchard Road flagship into one of the city’s biggest destinations for Mid-Autumn treats.
The Takashimaya Mid-Autumn Festive Celebration 2026 is now underway at Takashimaya Square, Basement 2, bringing together 61 local and international brands selling mooncakes, artisanal confectioneries, festive gifts and tea selections.
The event runs from 20 August through 25 September 2026, giving shoppers more than a month to browse the extensive selection ahead of Mid-Autumn Festival on 25 September.
From traditional mooncakes to unexpected flavours
This year’s line-up goes beyond the familiar baked and snow-skin mooncakes.
Among the highlights is the debut collection from Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, titled Beneath The Rainforest Moon. The collection draws inspiration from Singapore’s wildlife, with four flavours named after animals including the Pangolin, Macaw, Panda and Gibbon.
The flavours range from white lotus paste with single yolk to pandan coconut, rose tea, wolfberries and lychee, as well as a combination featuring Owa black coffee, white lotus and melon seeds.
For shoppers searching for something more indulgent, Orig.Co’s lava custard pineapple mooncake combines a molten salted-egg custard centre with pineapple filling made from Taiwanese pineapples.
The fair also features durian mooncakes, ice-cream mooncakes, artisanal confectioneries, tea selections and halal-certified options, making the event appeal to a much wider range of tastes and gifting needs.
More than just mooncakes
The scale of this year’s celebration is what makes it particularly notable.
Takashimaya’s official Mid-Autumn programme spans multiple categories, bringing together established hotel and restaurant names, traditional mooncake makers, overseas brands, specialty confectioneries and contemporary dessert concepts.
Some participating brands are also offering their own promotions, meaning shoppers may find different discounts depending on the brand and product.
Independent coverage of the fair has highlighted that early-bird promotions are not necessarily uniform across all 61 brands. Some participating sellers are offering substantial reductions, while certain premium hotel collections remain at their regular prices. Shoppers should therefore check the individual product terms rather than assume that every mooncake at the fair carries the same discount.
Takashimaya is also promoting online mooncake ordering, with free delivery for qualifying orders of at least S$150, while self-collection is available for online purchases.
Halal and alternative choices are also part of the mix
For consumers looking beyond conventional mooncake offerings, Mdm Ling Bakery is among the brands participating at Takashimaya.
The bakery says its 2026 collection includes more than 20 flavours, including traditional and contemporary varieties, as well as halal-certified and vegetarian options. Its Takashimaya booth is scheduled to operate from 20 August to 25 September.
Other contemporary choices are also appearing around Singapore’s 2026 mooncake season. For example, Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie is offering chocolate mooncake bon bons in flavours such as osmanthus pear, kinako mochi and orh nee tang yuan, showing how the traditional festive treat continues to evolve.
Takashimaya isn’t the only Mid-Autumn destination this year
The 2026 festive season is also bringing Mid-Autumn activities beyond shopping centres.
At Jurong Lake Gardens, NParks’ Lights by the Lake runs from 19 to 27 September, with larger-than-life lantern displays continuing until 4 October. The programme includes cultural showcases, music, exhibitions and family-friendly activities.
The wider Singapore Mid-Autumn calendar also includes lantern activities, storytelling, cultural programmes and family events across different locations, underscoring how the festival has grown beyond the traditional mooncake-and-lantern celebration.
What shoppers should know
For those planning a mooncake run, Takashimaya’s 2026 celebration is being held at:
Takashimaya Square, Basement 2
391 Orchard Road, Singapore 238872
The festive celebration runs 20 August to 25 September 2026.
With 61 brands participating, the biggest challenge may not be finding a mooncake — but deciding which one to take home.
And with Mid-Autumn Festival falling on 25 September, shoppers who want specific flavours or limited collections may want to start browsing early rather than waiting until the final days.
