Wang Leehom Reunites With Former Singapore Foreign Minister George Yeo — Their Longtime Friendship Has a Deeper Story

SINGAPORE — A dinner gathering involving Mandopop superstar Wang Leehom and former Singapore foreign minister George Yeo has attracted attention after the two shared warm messages and photographs from their latest get-together.

Yeo and his wife, Jennifer Leong, recently hosted the singer and a group of friends from Croatia for a meal believed to have taken place in Singapore. The gathering was shared publicly through social media, offering another glimpse into a friendship that dates back several years.

Yeo posted photographs of the gathering on Facebook on November 3, 2026, with the caption: “Wang Leehom and Croatian friends.”

The 50-year-old singer responded with a message thanking Yeo for his hospitality, friendship and generosity.

“Such a lovely evening with you, Jennifer, Edward, Maggie, Billy, Freddie, Grandma Mary and the Croatians!” Wang wrote.

He also shared the photograph through his Instagram Story on November 4, thanking the former minister and his family for welcoming him and his companions.

While the dinner itself appeared to be a private social gathering, the exchange has renewed interest in how the internationally recognised singer and one of Singapore’s most prominent former political figures first became acquainted.

A Friendship That Goes Back to 2018

The latest gathering was not their first public reunion.

In September 2023, Yeo shared photographs of himself, his family and Wang following a meal in Taipei. At the time, the singer explained that he and the Yeos had become friends through the Sun Valley Conference, an annual gathering attended by prominent figures from business, technology, media and other industries.

Reports by The Straits Times, CNA’s 8days and Mothership noted that the pair had first crossed paths at the conference in 2018.

Wang also described Yeo as someone with interesting experiences and stories to share. During their 2023 meeting, the former minister reportedly spoke about his experiences with Singapore’s founding prime minister, the late Lee Kuan Yew.

Their latest dinner therefore appears to be another occasion for friends to reconnect rather than a newly announced professional or political partnership.

The connection is also a reminder that relationships formed at international gatherings can continue long after the events themselves have ended.

Wang Leehom’s Singapore Connection Goes Beyond Entertainment

The dinner comes at a time when Wang has also been involved in a charitable initiative in Singapore.

In July 2026, the singer released an English-language song titled “Hope” in support of Epworth Community Services, a Singapore social service agency that works with children, youths and families facing difficult circumstances.

The song premiered during Epworth’s “Where Hope Blooms” fundraising gala dinner at One Farrer Hotel on July 31. It became available on major streaming platforms on August 4.

Wang worked on the track with Singaporean music producer and music director Goh Kheng Long, a longtime collaborator whose professional relationship with the singer dates back more than three decades.

The project was particularly notable because it marked the first time an international Mandopop star had released an English-language song in support of a Singapore social service agency, according to reports by The Straits Times and CNA.

Wang said the song was intended to honour the resilience of children, at-risk youths and families supported by the organisation.

Funds raised through the charity initiative support Epworth’s work in areas including trauma care, early intervention and youth development.

New Meeting With Epworth Leadership Signals Continued Support

Wang’s involvement with Epworth has not ended with the release of the song.

In a November 4 social media post, Epworth Community Services shared a photograph of the singer meeting with Goh Kheng Long and members of the agency’s leadership team.

The organisation described the gathering as a meaningful discussion about Singapore’s children, youth and family service landscape, as well as how the wider community can contribute.

Epworth also thanked Wang for his support and expressed hope for further collaborations.

Although the organisation has not announced specific details of any upcoming projects, the meeting suggests that the singer’s connection with the charity is continuing beyond the initial music release.

The development adds another dimension to Wang’s latest Singapore appearances: alongside his entertainment career, he has also used his musical platform to support a local social-service cause.

Who Is George Yeo After Leaving Politics?

George Yeo served in Singapore’s Cabinet and was the country’s Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2011.

Since leaving frontline politics, he has taken on roles in the private sector and maintained an active presence in international business and public affairs.

His friendship with Wang illustrates how professional and social networks can extend across different industries and countries.

The two come from very different public backgrounds: Yeo is known for his years in Singapore politics and international relations, while Wang has built a career as a singer, songwriter and producer with a following across the Chinese-speaking world.

Their friendship, however, predates the latest photographs and has been publicly acknowledged by both sides.

More Than a Celebrity Dinner?

For fans, the photographs offer a rare look at Wang spending time with friends outside the concert stage and entertainment industry.

For Singapore, the singer’s recent activities also highlight a continuing connection with the local community through his collaboration with Epworth Community Services.

At present, neither the dinner nor the meeting with Epworth has been presented as a major new commercial or entertainment announcement. The available public information points instead to a personal gathering and continued charitable engagement.

Still, the combination of a longtime friendship with a former Singapore minister and a developing relationship with a local social-service organisation gives Wang’s latest visit a broader story than a simple celebrity appearance.

And with Epworth expressing interest in further collaboration, the question now is whether Wang Leehom’s latest Singapore engagement will lead to another project that brings his music and influence closer to the community.
