PRO-6 Seizes P14.2 Million in Suspected Illegal Drugs, Arrests 62

The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) seized P14.224 million worth of suspected illegal drugs and arrested 62 people during anti-drug operations conducted across the region from September 1 to 15, 2026.

Police carried out 47 operations during the first half of September, confiscating 2,090 grams of suspected shabu and 100 grams of marijuana. The combined value was based on the government’s Standard Drug Price.

PRO-6 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño said cooperation between police and communities remains important in identifying and disrupting suspected illegal drug activities.

Tuaño said information provided by residents can help authorities identify suspected drug operations and prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities. He also emphasized the importance of validating information and carrying out operations in accordance with the law.

Of the 62 people arrested, police classified 20 as high-value individuals and 42 as street-level individuals.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office recorded the largest number of arrests among the units cited in the report. It conducted 17 operations that resulted in 30 arrests, including 14 people classified as high-value individuals and 16 as street-level individuals.

The provincial police also seized 1,267 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of P8.616 million.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Western Visayas conducted three operations during the same period, arresting four people. Three were classified as high-value individuals and one as a street-level individual.

The unit confiscated 495 grams of suspected shabu valued at about P3.366 million based on the Standard Drug Price.

Meanwhile, the Iloilo City Police Office conducted 24 operations and arrested 25 people. Three of those arrested were classified as high-value individuals, while 22 were classified as street-level individuals.

Police in Iloilo City confiscated 315 grams of suspected shabu and 100 grams of marijuana, with a combined estimated value of P2.154 million.

PRO-6 attributed the results to continued intelligence gathering, information validation, coordination among police units and partner agencies, and cooperation from local governments, barangay officials and residents.

Tuaño said the campaign should not be assessed solely on the amount of suspected illegal drugs confiscated or the number of arrests made. PRO-6 said it will continue using intelligence-driven and community-based approaches to identify people allegedly involved in illegal drug activities and support enforcement efforts across Western Visayas.

All suspects remain entitled to due process, and the allegations against them will be subject to court proceedings.
